Bernstein Lifts TSMC Price Target to $600 on CPU Superccycle Bet
Bernstein lifted its TSMC price target to $600 from $554, topping the $529-$558 consensus range, after more than doubling its 2027 CPU revenue forecast for the foundry.

Bernstein has raised its price target on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company to $600, up from $554, pushing its call above the early-November 2026 analyst consensus range of $529 to $558 for the world's largest contract chipmaker.
The revision is the second leg of a steep climb. On August 11, 2026, Bernstein analyst Mark Li lifted the firm's TSMC target from $430 to $554, keeping an Outperform rating on the stock. With the new number, Bernstein's target has moved from $430 to $600 across two revisions in roughly three months.
What's driving the $600 call?
The thesis behind August's upgrade centered on CPUs, not the AI accelerators that grab most of the headlines. Bernstein projected that TSMC's CPU revenue could reach the high-$30 billion range by 2027. That compares with a prior estimate of $15-16 billion. In effect, the firm more than doubled its expectations for that slice of the business.
The demand is expected to come from a long list of heavyweight customers. Bernstein's research pointed to AMD, Intel, Apple, Amazon, Google, and Arm as key clients driving that growth.
The breadth matters. With six major customers cited as demand drivers, TSMC's fortunes are tied to the overall direction of the industry rather than one company winning or losing a product cycle.
Which nodes carry the load?
Bernstein highlighted TSMC's N2 process as a central growth driver. The company is also leaning on its N3, N5, and N7 nodes to serve customers at different price and performance points.
Beyond the chips themselves, TSMC has benefited from AI-related demand for its advanced packaging technologies. Bernstein's research framing describes the broader semiconductor industry as navigating a supercycle driven by AI advancements and growing demand for processing power.
How does Bernstein stack up against the Street?
Bernstein's new number isn't an outlier in isolation. Susquehanna raised its own TSMC target to $600 from $575 back in July 2026. That July call rested on strong quarterly results and TSMC's expansion plans in Arizona. Bernstein has now effectively caught up to where Susquehanna landed months earlier.
Still, $600 clears the top of the consensus pack but doesn't claim the crown. That distinction belongs to Barclays, which set a high target of $670.
What do the numbers say?
TSMC reported Q3 2026 revenue of NT$1.49 trillion, a 51% year-over-year increase. That top-line momentum underpins the Street's steadily rising targets.
The CPU angle deserves particular attention. Most of the market's AI excitement has focused on GPUs and accelerators, but Bernstein's thesis argues that general-purpose processors could become a much larger revenue line for TSMC than previously assumed — and if the firm's high-$30 billion projection holds, CPUs alone would rival the revenue of many full-scale chipmakers by 2027.
