Tessolve Semiconductor, the chip design and engineering services arm of Hero Electronix, has raised $75 million from Vector Line Capital, according to a report by Indian Startup News.
The round marks one of the larger recent capital injections into an India-headquartered semiconductor services company. It signals continued investor appetite for engineering-services businesses positioned at the design end of the chip value chain, where capital requirements are lighter than in wafer fabrication but engineering talent is the core asset.
Who is Tessolve?
Tessolve Semiconductor operates under Hero Electronix, the consumer-electronics group of the Hero family, which has been building out a semiconductor portfolio as part of India's broader push into chip design and manufacturing. Tessolve provides chip design, verification, test engineering and turnkey silicon services to global semiconductor companies.
The $75 million from Vector Line Capital gives the company fresh firepower to expand those engineering operations at a moment when multinational chipmakers are broadening their design footprints beyond traditional hubs in the US, Taiwan and Israel.
What does the deal signal?
The investment lands amid two converging trends:
- India's government incentives for semiconductor design and manufacturing have drawn a wave of corporate commitments across the supply chain.
- Global fabless companies and IDMs increasingly outsource verification, validation and test work to engineering-services providers to control development cost and compress time to silicon.
Hero Electronix has positioned Tessolve as the engineering backbone of its semiconductor ambitions. The new $75 million commitment from Vector Line Capital provides the capital to scale engineering headcount and service lines in a market where design-services capacity is becoming a competitive bottleneck for customers racing to bring chips to market.
Vector Line Capital's decision to write the check also reflects private-equity interest in semiconductor services firms, which offer recurring engineering revenue without the multi-billion-dollar capex burden of fabs.
Why it matters for the supply chain
India's semiconductor strategy has so far produced more momentum in design and assembly-test than in leading-edge fabrication. Companies such as Tessolve sit squarely in that sweet spot: they capture value from global chip development budgets while building the domestic engineering base that policymakers want to deepen.
For global customers, an expanding Tessolve means more verified, tested silicon capacity available in a talent market where experienced chip engineers remain scarce.
The company has not disclosed how it will deploy the $75 million, and Indian Startup News' report did not specify a company valuation. The investment's impact will depend on whether the funds translate into expanded engineering teams and deeper turnkey silicon capabilities that customers can contract at scale.
With India's semiconductor incentives still rolling out and design-services demand rising, Tessolve now has the balance sheet to compete for larger, multi-year chip development programs.
