Wise Integration and Navitas Semiconductor have agreed to collaborate on advancing power-computing applications, with data centre power supply units as the stated focus of the joint development effort.
Wise Integration specialises in digital control for power converters built on gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) devices. Navitas Semiconductor supplies both GaN and SiC power semiconductors. The pairing brings together a company that designs the digital control layer of a power converter with a company that manufactures the wide-bandgap power switches that layer commands — a combination the two firms intend to apply to power delivery for computing workloads.
The commercial logic is straightforward. Data centre power supplies are a growth market for wide-bandgap semiconductors, and the effectiveness of GaN and SiC-based converter designs depends heavily on the control architecture that manages the switching devices. Digital control allows converter designers to extract higher switching frequencies, tighter regulation and better efficiency from GaN and SiC transistors than legacy analogue control schemes, which were largely optimised for silicon MOSFETs.
For Navitas, the collaboration extends a strategy of attaching its GaN and SiC device portfolio to system-level design expertise. For Wise Integration, it provides a direct channel into power supply designs aimed at the computing segment, where efficiency targets and power density requirements continue to tighten as accelerator-loaded servers push per-rack power budgets upward.
Neither company has disclosed financial terms, a timeline for jointly developed products, or specific performance targets for the data centre PSU designs in this announcement. The agreement is a development collaboration rather than a confirmed product launch, and no capacity, volume or revenue figures accompany it.
The two companies have not detailed which product families or power levels the collaboration will address first. Wise Integration's contribution centres on the digital control of GaN and SiC-based converters, while Navitas brings its position as a supplier of both wide-bandgap material systems — a combination the partners believe can advance power-computing applications.
The announcement signals where both companies see demand concentrating. Power supplies for data centre computing are among the fastest-moving segments for wide-bandgap adoption, and competitive positioning in that market increasingly depends on pairing devices with control silicon and reference designs rather than shipping transistors alone. Whether this collaboration produces qualified PSU platforms — and on what schedule — will determine whether it translates into design wins in a segment where efficiency and power density, rather than headline specifications, decide procurement.
