Analysts have flagged Navitas Semiconductor as a beneficiary of the industry move toward 800-volt power architectures in AI data centers, according to a Yahoo Finance Canada report.
The redesign of AI server power delivery is the driver. Next-generation AI racks draw far more power than prior generations. Operators are evaluating a shift from conventional low-voltage distribution to 800V direct-current schemes to cut losses and reduce copper weight.
Navitas supplies gallium nitride and silicon carbide power semiconductors. These wide-bandgap devices operate efficiently at high voltage. That positions the company in the redesign cycle now under discussion across hyperscaler roadmaps.
Why does 800V matter for AI racks?
Higher rack densities force a change in power architecture. At 800V, distribution losses fall and current drops for the same delivered power. Thinner conductors become feasible. AI clusters with power hungry accelerators are the main trigger.
Wide-bandgap semiconductors are the enabling component class. GaN handles fast switching at high efficiency. SiC supports high-voltage conversion stages. Navitas sells both, which distinguishes it from suppliers focused on a single material.
What did analysts say?
The report characterizes the view as forward-looking. Navitas is "seen benefiting" from the 800V transition, the headline stated. No revenue figure, design-win count, or customer name appeared in the report.
Investors treated the note as a signal. The market for AI data center power components remains competitive. Navitas faces established power semiconductor makers pursuing the same architectures.
The analyst view is an estimate of positioning, not a confirmed order book. Navitas has not disclosed 800V-specific revenue in the material reviewed.
What comes next?
Adoption of 800V architectures depends on hyperscaler deployment schedules. Each new AI rack generation raises power budgets. Suppliers able to qualify wide-bandgap devices in those racks stand to gain share as the transition proceeds.
