Moft's Dynamic Folio Case for the iPhone Duo is now available for preorder at $89.99, with shipping expected to start in mid-December. The accessory maker, which originally released the Dynamic Folio for the iPad in early 2025, has rebuilt the product as a full case for Apple's folding phone rather than a simple protective cover.

The price is the first thing buyers will notice. At $89.99, the case costs $20 more than Moft's existing $69.99 Dynamic Folio. The difference between the two products is structural, and it explains the premium.

What does the extra $20 buy?

The $69.99 Dynamic Folio attaches magnetically to the back of the iPhone Duo, which makes it easy to remove. The new $89.99 version, by contrast, clips securely onto the phone. That fixed attachment lets the case protect the back of the device as well as the front and rear edges of the foldable, coverage the magnetic accessory does not provide.

Both versions guard the Duo's outer display against scratches while the phone sits in a bag or a pocket. The case form factor simply extends that protection to more of the hardware.

Moft sells the new case in three colorways: navy blue, misty cove, and sapphire. Preorders run through the company's online store.

How does the origami design work?

The cover folds along multiple crease lines, in the manner of origami, and each configuration serves a different purpose. This is the mechanism that separates the Dynamic Folio from ordinary folio cases.

The folding options include:

  • Kickstand mode. The cover props the Duo up at several different angles, in either landscape or portrait orientation, for hands-free viewing.
  • Lounge Mode. The cover holds the phone at a reclined angle, aimed at users lying in bed who want to look at the screen without holding the device.
  • Finger grip. Reconfigured, the cover works as a grip that slips behind the hand during one-handed use, a function comparable to a PopSockets accessory — though Moft's version does not look as comfortable to hold as those popular grips.

One product therefore replaces at least three separate accessories: a protective case, a folding stand, and a phone grip.

Why does this accessory exist at all?

Folding phones create a design problem that conventional handsets do not have. When closed, the iPhone Duo exposes an outer display that can rub against keys, coins, and other pocket contents, and the device's hinge and edges need protection too. A case for a foldable has to shield all of those surfaces without blocking the fold itself.

Moft's answer is a cover that is protective when closed and functional when folded. The origami structure means the protective layer becomes the stand and the grip, rather than requiring extra parts that add bulk.

The timing also matters. Apple's foldable is new hardware, and accessory makers typically race to establish shelf position in the first months after a device launch. Moft already had the Dynamic Folio design in production for the iPad since early 2025, which gave it a short path to an iPhone Duo variant.

What should buyers weigh?

The choice comes down to convenience versus coverage. The $69.99 magnetic folio removes quickly and costs less, but it protects only the outer screen. The $89.99 case stays attached and guards the back and edges as well, at the cost of that easy removal and the higher price.

Buyers who want one accessory to do the standing, the gripping, and the protecting now have a single option at $89.99, and mid-December delivery means the case should arrive in the first holiday window after the Duo's launch.
