Overlord Labs has appointed Chris Allexandre, chief executive of Navitas Semiconductor, to its board of directors, the company announced via citybiz.

The move puts a sitting power-semiconductor CEO inside a second firm's governance structure. Allexbre leads Navitas, the GaNFast and GeneSiC vendor whose gallium-nitride and silicon-carbide power devices ship into fast chargers, data center power supplies and electric vehicle systems. Board seats held by active semiconductor executives tend to signal where suppliers expect their next demand channel to sit. Whether that reading applies here, the announcement itself does not say.

Who is Chris Allexandre?

Allexandre runs Navitas Semiconductor, a Nasdaq-listed company built around wide-bandgap power conversion. Its product families — GaNFast gallium-nitride integrated circuits and GeneSiC silicon-carbide MOSFETs and diodes — serve consumer fast charging, enterprise power, solar inverters and drivetrain electronics. Navitas has spent the past several years pushing GaN from phone chargers into higher-voltage territory, including onboard EV chargers and, more recently, AI data center power architectures.

That portfolio makes Allexandre a director with direct operating experience in the materials shift now reshaping power delivery. Silicon is ceding ground to GaN and SiC across everything above roughly 65 watts. Boards looking at that transition have a short list of people who run a pure-play wide-bandgap company. He is on it.

What does the appointment change?

For now, the disclosed facts are thin: one director, one seat, no stated strategy. The announcement does not detail committee assignments, equity grants or any commercial arrangement between Navitas and Overlord Labs. Readers should treat any deeper interpretation — distribution deals, joint development, co-investment — as speculation rather than substance.

What can be said is structural. A board seat gives Navitas's chief executive formal fiduciary duty to Overlord Labs, which typically requires disclosure of conflicts should the two companies ever transact. It also gives Overlord Labs access to an executive whose company sits squarely in the wide-bandgap supply chain, at a moment when power semiconductors are among the tightest-leveraged components in AI infrastructure buildouts.

The appointment is effective immediately, per the announcement.

Why it matters

Corporate governance stories rarely move markets. This one earns attention because of the collision it implies: the executive steering one of the few pure-play GaN and SiC suppliers now has a hand on the tiller of another company. If Overlord Labs touches power electronics, energy infrastructure or compute hardware — domains where Navitas already sells — the overlap becomes the story.

The announcement leaves that question open. It confirms only the seat and the name. The next signal worth watching is whether Navitas discloses Overlord Labs as a customer, partner or counterparty in future filings; until then, this is a hire, not a deal.
