TSMC Posts Record NT$1.49 Trillion in Quarterly Revenue
TSMC booked NT$1.49 trillion in a single quarter — a record for the world's largest pure-play foundry — according to a TNGlobal report, extending a string of all-time high marks for the chipmaker.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company booked NT$1.49 trillion in a single quarter — the largest three-month figure in its history — according to a TNGlobal report on the chipmaker's latest results. The headline extends a string of records and cements a gap over every rival in the contract-manufacturing business.
The TNGlobal report does not specify the calendar quarter, the year-over-year rate, or a node-level split. What it does confirm: TSMC, already the world's largest pure-play foundry, has just set a fresh revenue ceiling no rival can touch.
How does NT$1.49 trillion compare to prior quarters?
Industry tracking by TrendForce, Counterpoint, and Bernstein had TSMC running at record pace through the most recent reported quarters. Quarterly revenue had already cleared NT$800 billion on a regular basis. The NT$1.49 trillion print vaults the chipmaker into territory no pure-play chipmaker has touched in a single three-month stretch.
Cast into U.S. dollars at a typical New Taiwan Dollar rate in the low-to-mid 30s, NT$1.49 trillion lands in the mid-$40 billions — a quarterly run-rate on par with the annual revenue of the largest memory chipmakers.
What's actually in the mix?
The TNGlobal report doesn't carry a node-level breakdown, but TSMC's structural tilt is well-documented. Advanced geometries — 5nm, 4nm, 3nm, and the early 2nm wafers ramping at Hsinchu's Baoshan campus — generate the bulk of revenue growth. Older nodes including 16nm and 28nm still ship meaningful volumes, but contribute less than they did three years ago.
The customer roster, while not detailed in TNGlobal's report, runs long and deep: Apple, NVIDIA, AMD, Qualcomm, Broadcom, MediaTek, plus a tail of system-on-chip designers. Each of those accounts buys leading-edge capacity hard. Analysts describe the order book as oversubscribed well into 2025 and 2026.
Who else is even in the race?
Short answer: nobody, at the leading edge.
Samsung Foundry runs a competing 3nm gate-all-around process and serves Qualcomm plus internal Samsung units. SMIC ships 7nm-class silicon but cannot procure extreme-ultraviolet lithography from ASML.
Intel Foundry Services has capacity under construction in Arizona, Ohio, and Germany — yet no external leading-edge customer of consequence.
By share, TSMC sits above 60 percent of total foundry revenue and above 90 percent of the leading-edge subset, defined as 7nm and below. The next quarterly call from any rival is unlikely to close that gap.
What does the number signal for capacity and pricing?
Two things. First: the foundry holds pricing leverage at the leading edge. Wafer prices have climbed for close to two years; that trajectory looks intact.
Second: TSMC pushes capex above US$40 billion annually into Arizona Fab 21, the Kumamoto JASM lines in Japan, the Dresden ESMC joint venture, and the 2nm ramp at home — and near-term demand still outruns supply.
CoWoS — the interposer-based packaging that pairs foundry output with chiplet integration — has been the most-cited choke point. TSMC has pushed capacity expansions aggressively through 2025; even so, analysts describe supply as unable to keep up with the order pipeline at the major AI-accelerator customers.
Expect more quarters like this one — at least until 2nm capacity meaningfully opens up, or until one of the hyperscalers' AI build-outs cools. The next earnings call will tell us whether NT$1.49 trillion was the new floor, or just the old ceiling.
