TSMC has recognized ACL Digital with a 2026 Open Innovation Platform (OIP) Partner of the Year Award for Design Service Excellence, according to an announcement distributed via Yahoo Finance.
The award places ACL Digital among the select group of design service companies that TSMC singles out each year within its OIP ecosystem. TSMC launched the OIP alliance in 2008 to link IP providers, EDA vendors, and design service firms with its process technologies, so that customers can move from architecture to silicon with fewer integration risks. Partner of the Year awards in the design services category go to firms that TSMC judges to have delivered strong execution on customer tape-outs and design enablement across its node portfolio.
ACL Digital, a design and engineering services provider, works with chip developers on tasks that span front-end design, verification, physical implementation, and silicon bring-up. Recognition at this level signals that the company handled significant customer projects on TSMC processes during the evaluation period, although TSMC and ACL Digital have not disclosed the specific customer engagements, process nodes, or revenue figures behind the award.
The award matters commercially for one main reason: TSMC's ecosystem ranking functions as a de facto qualification signal. Fabless customers choosing among dozens of design service vendors often rely on TSMC's own assessments to shortlist partners, and an OIP Partner of the Year designation typically translates into stronger deal flow for the recipient. It also tightens the recipient's alignment with TSMC's technology roadmaps, since TSMC works most closely with the partners it publicly recognizes.
The 2026 award cycle lands at a moment when demand for design services is rising across the industry. Advanced-node designs at 5nm, 3nm, and below require larger engineering teams and deeper process knowledge than many fabless companies maintain in-house, pushing more of the design work to specialized service firms. Chiplets and 3D packaging add integration work that further expands the services market.
TSMC typically presents its OIP Partner of the Year awards at its annual OIP Ecosystem Forum or through its partner program channels. The company has not yet published the full list of 2026 award recipients across categories such as EDA, IP, and design services, and ACL Digital has not announced additional details on the engagements that earned the recognition.
For ACL Digital, the next test will be converting the recognition into contracted design work at the leading edge, where TSMC's capacity and node priorities increasingly shape which service partners capture the fastest-growing share of customer projects.
